Eco Disaster

This is the PiWars page for Eco Disaster. In this game the robot picks up barrels and delivers them to one of two end zones, according to their colour.

We mounted a barrel lift to the robot’s bulldozer servos:

We also added front, rear and side bumpers. If the robot crashes into a barrel, the barrel is more likely to stay upright with the bumpers fitted.

The strategy for the game used the robot’s camera to find the barrels and end zones. It used the front facing time-of-flight sensor to trigger the barrel lift when picking barrels up. This blog post contains information about the game strategy.
