This is P24-C4; he plays Connect4. He was built for the Sidmouth Science Festival. Actually, he was built for the 2024 festival (hence “P24…”) and I have only just got round to putting details on the web. Now seemed like a good time as we are just about to do the 2026 festival.
He has a Raspberry Pi camera in his chest (see the orange surround in the image) that views the board. The robot is on tracks; it backs away from the board (by about 100mm) so that the whole board is in view. It chooses the column to play a counter in, drives to the physical stop in front of the board, takes a counter from one of it’s holsters, then plays the token in the board.
